Whirlpool WHD862CHCS Closet Depth FrontLoad Heat Pump Dryer User Guide

*NOTE: See “Cycle Guide” in the Use and Care Guide for more information about cycles, settings, and options. Not all cycles, settings, and options are available with all models. Read your Use and Care Guide before using your dryer.

  1. CLEAN LINT SCREEN AND HYBRIDCARE™ FILTER

Clean the lint screen before each load. Also, clean the HybridCare™ Filter after every 5th load or if the indicator tells you to do so.
  2. LOAD DRYER

When loading items, do not tightly pack the dryer. Items need to tumble freely.
  3. TOUCH POWER TO TURN ON DRYER

  4. SELECT WHAT TO DRY AND HOW TO DRY

NOTE: Default settings and options are preset and do not require any further selections.
  5. ADJUST CYCLE SETTINGS OR ADD OPTIONS, IF DESIRED

NOTE: This step is only needed if you want to customize your cycle.
  6. TOUCH AND HOLD START/ PAUSE TO BEGIN CYCLE

After the display counts down “3-2-1” and the dryer starts, release the button. Continuing to hold the button after the cycle starts may cause the cycle to be cancelled.

SETTINGS AND OPTIONS

  • More Time and Less Time can only be used with the Timed Dry cycles.
  • Wrinkle Shield™ setting adds up to 150 minutes of tumbling to help reduce wrinkling.
  • Cycle Signal controls tone sound and volume.
  • Damp Dry Signal sounds beeps when the load is damp, but not completely dry.
  • Control Lock avoids unintended changes in options or preferences.

HYBRIDCARETM ENERGY OPTIONS
HybridCare™ dryers are better at energy savings but take longer than regular vented dryers. This dryer provides you the choice between two modes:
Speed: Select this option for optimal cycle times.
Eco: This option increases your energy savings by using a slightly lower heat level and extending cycle time.

NOTE: Energy savings may vary across loads and cycles.

NOTE: Government energy certifications for this model were based on the Regular + Normal Cycle, Highest temperature setting, Normal Dryness Level, Eco Boost™ On. The as-shipped defaults were the same as the Government Energy Certification Settings except the default Temperature Setting of Medium was adjusted to the Highest temperature setting. Cycles that are available for post-sale download may use more energy than the Normal cycle, upon which the energy use rating of this dryer is based upon.
