BEFORE FIRST USE

This portable icemaker uses a fully automatic control system, with an advanced microcomputer for easy and convenient ice making. Making ice is simple and fast. Just add water, plug into an outlet, and press the ON button. You can select one of the two ice cube sizes with the touch of a button. When first turning on the unit or during icemaking cycles, the compressor will stay idle for 3 minutes, while energizing.
There are warning indicators that alert you to fill water when the reservoir is empty and to remove ice when the storage basket is full. The icemaker also has built-in safeguards that can limit accidental damage, automatically shutting down the system when necessary.
Please read carefully.

  1. Do not turn the icemaker upside down. Doing so could cause the compressor or refrigerating system to operate incorrectly. When the icemaker is moved or transported, please allow time for the fluids in the compressor to settle. Before using the ice maker for the first time, please wait 2 hours after the unit has been leveled and positioned in its proper place.
  2. Please ensure the ice maker is level and on a stable table or platform to avoid malfunction.
  3. The machine must be placed on a dry and level surface with sufficient ventilation, far from heat sources such as ovens, heaters and corrosive gases. Leave an 8-inch clearance on all sides of the ice maker for proper ventilation.
  4. Do not fill the water reservoir with hot water. This may damage the icemaker. It is best to fill the water reservoir with water of room temperature or lower.

USE YOUR ICE MAKER

  1. Ensure that the Drain Plug underneath the front of the unit is closed and the Water Tube Screen is in place.
  2. Plug the Ice Maker into the wall outlet and the green power indicator light will blink (approximately every 5 seconds).
  3. Open the Cover and remove the Ice Basket.
  4. Fill the Water Reservoir. NOTE: Do not fill above the MAX water level mark at the back of the Water Reservoir.
  5. Replace the Ice Basket and close the Cover.
  6. Press the Power Button and the green indicator light will remain on. To change between either the small or large ice size, press the Select button until the light is lit up beside the desired ice size.
  7. The first ice-making cycle will last approximately 8 – 13 minutes depending on the ice size that is selected. The ice-making cycle starts with water being pumped into the Water Tray situated below the Evaporator Fingers. Over the next 8 – 13 minutes ice forms on the Evaporator Fingers. Once this has been completed, the Ice Tray will tilt backward and the remaining water in the Ice Tray is drained back into the Water Reservoir. The ice cubes are then dropped from the Evaporator Fingers and pushed forward into the Ice Basket by the Ice Shovel. The Ice Tray will automatically move back into position under the Evaporator Fingers and start the next cycle.
  8. The ‘Ice Full’ LED light will light up when the ice basket is full and the Ice Maker will stop the ice-making cycle automatically. Gently remove the ice from the Ice Basket with the Ice Scoop. Once the Ice Basket has been emptied and the Cover closed, the Ice Maker will restart its ice-making function automatically. IMPORTANT: Wait 3 minutes then press the Power Button to restart the ice-making function.
  9. The `Add Water’ LED light will light up when there is no more water in the Water Reservoir and the ice-making cycle will stop automatically. Press the Power Button once (the Power Button will flash every 5 seconds). Remove the Ice Basket and add water to the Water Reservoir.
NOTE: Do not fill above the MAX water level mark at the back of the Water Reservoir. Replace the Ice Basket and close the Cover. IMPORTANT: Wait 3 minutes then press the Power Button to restart the ice-making function.
  10. When you have finished making ice, transfer the ice to a freezer. NOTE: The ice will last in the Ice Maker for up to an 18 hour period, depending on the ambient temperature. Stop the ice-making cycle by pressing the Power Button. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Open the Cover and allow the Ice Maker to reach room temperature and follow the directions in the Care and Cleaning section.

CARE AND CLEANING

  1.  Stop the Ice Making Cycle by pressing the Power Button and the green LED light will go out. Unplug the Ice Maker from the wall outlet. Allow the unit to warm up to room temperature.

FAQS

What’s the lowest room temp the ice maker can be used in? i.e. a cold garage in the winter time okay?

The surround temperature can affect the cooling capacity of this ice maker . In winter , we do not recommend to use in the garage .

What sizes are the cubes?

Mine has a selector button for “small or large” cubes. Small cubes are the diameter of adult small finger. Large is about thumb size.

Does this machine make chewable (soft) ice?

This machine makes bullet shaped ice that is not chewable/soft.

What is the power consumption from someone who can read the info on his/her ice maker?

As per the User Guide – the rated power of the unit is 105W

Why is there a puddle of water on the floor under my refrigerator?

This is a common occurrence with most refrigerator/freezers. The water is from the condensation that forms when the refrigerator/freezer cools. This moisture is not harmful and will evaporate when the unit is in use.

What does the self clean cycle do? Are you supposed to add water? The instructions are not clear.

The self-clean cycle is simply a chemical wash, it’s not a mechanical procedure. We’ve learned it’s not enough, you have to scrub the internal mechanisms with a silicone brush to remove residue. It’s a visual process and easy to do with the right brush. Yes, use water and when residue is broken loose, tip the unit over to drain in the sink. It’s easy enough and if you don’t get all the residue off, it doesn’t matter. Use fitered water if you want the cleanest ice.

Does the ice taste funny and is the ice really hard?

The shape of the ice cube is the reason I purchased this machine. The taste is unaltered and the ice cubes are not frozen hard. They don’t melt quickly but they are too small to be super hard. Their size is advantageous to making the drink cold quickly.

Where do you add the water

You open the lid, and pour potable water into the water reservoir which is below the ice storage basket.

Where do i purchase the ice tray for this machine , mine didn’t come with one

The ice tray should be included in the package. Live chat with Amazon to help resolve this issue. Amazon should liase with the seller to either get you a full replacement or at least get the seller to send you the missing ice tray as without the tray the ice maker is useless.

How many cubes does it make at a time ?

10 cylindrical shaped cubes approximately 1″ long x 3/4″ diameter

Where is this made?

China

Does this make nugget ice?

It makes bullet shaped ice with a hole in the middle and you have a choice of large or small.

How long will ice last in the ice machine?

If left on it will continually make ice. If the ice melts in the machine it will get recycled back to ice!

Where do I place the ice scoop?

You can store the ice scoop in a drawer.

Where is the max line for water?

The MAX Line for water is located at the back of the Water Reservoir. It is intended to show the maximum fill level for water.

So how many rounds do you have to do it to make the full 26 pounds?

8 small cubes drop about every 13 min, but just turn it on, do what ever and usually 2 basket’s makes a gallon , yes it takes time, but to me well worth it

are there any portable ice machines that come apart for cleaning??

Not sure

What is the warranty on this ice maker

Don’t recall but we’ve had ours for quite a while and while and it still works great .

How much does it weigh

this unit has weight of 17.8 pounds .

Puts off heat

There is only a sight heat discharge from the left side where the exhaust is (the exhaust is shown in the picture of the item). Other than that no it does not throw off heat.

Power button flashes green when i turn it off. Continuously. How can i get it to stay off like before? Still makes ice fine.

A flashing green power LED indicates the unit is in standby mode.

How long does ice last in this machine? Does it need to be removed and placed in the freezer?

The ice melts at normal rate. If you want to save the ice, you will need to remove it to a freezer.

Is it energy efficient

Yes it is I only run the machine when our ice demand is needed.

Does this machine have a manual or an automatic defrost?

Machine requires no defrost mechanism. The only part of the unit that gets cold enough to make ice is a set of 10 or 12 metal rods that cold water is circulated around to form ice shaped bullets. Once the ice is formed around the rods, the rods are raised out of the water and heated slightly by the unit to cause the ice bullets to fall off the rods where they are then shoveled into the ice holding basket. Note, since the unit does not operate like an ice machine in a refrigerator, i.e. the entire enclosure is not below freezing where the ice is stored, the ice will be in a continuous state of melting away. However, the unit makes ice fast enough that if left alone, it will fill the basket with ice, the ice does not melt so fast you can’t use it. It has an automatic shutoff when the basket gets full and when enough has melted it automatically starts making more. And Yes it has a manual with instructions on cleaning it and operating it.
