CERAMIC BOWL SAFETY

Your safety and the safety of others are very important.

We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and obey all safety messages.

This is the safety alert symbol.
This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others.

All safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word “DANGER” or “WARNING:’ These words mean:

DANGER: You can be killed or seriously injured if you don’t immediately follow instructions.

WARNING: You can be killed or seriously injured if you don’t follow instructions.
All safety messages will tell you what the potential hazard is, tell you how to reduce the chance of injury, and tell you what can happen if the instructions are not followed.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed. Please refer to the basic Important Safeguards as outlined in the Instructions manual included with your Stand Mixer.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

This product is designed for household use only.

USING THE CERAMIC BOWL

ATTACHING THE CERAMIC BOWL TO THE STAND MIXER

Before First Use

Your Stand Mixer is individually adjusted at the factory for optimal performance. When using the Ceramic Bowl, it may be necessary to readjust the beater-to-bowl clearance.

When correctly positioned, the handle and pour spout should not touch the pedestal of the Stand Mixer. Please refer to the Stand Mixer Instructions manual for complete information on adjusting the beater-to-bowl clearance, or call 1-800-541-6390 Monday through Friday 8-8 EST and we would be happy to assist you in making this adjustment.

IMPORTANT: Before use, wash with hot, soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly. It is not necessary to season the Ceramic Bowl before use.

NOTE: This Ceramic Bowl is designed to fit all 4.5 and 5 quart Tilt Head Stand Mixer models except model KN15E1X. Follow these instructions to attach the Ceramic Bowl to your Stand Mixer.

  1. Be sure the speed control is set to 0 (off) and the Stand Mixer is unplugged. Tilt the motor head back.
  2. Place the Ceramic Bowl on the clamping plate, and attach by turning gently in a clockwise direction.
  3. Attach the appropriate accessory for your recipe, using the directions in the Stand Mixer Instructions manual.
Then place the motor head back in the down position and lock into place.
REMOVING THE CERAMIC BOWL FROM THE STAND MIXER
  1. Raise the motor head:
Check to be sure that the Stand Mixer is unplugged, and the speed control is turned to “0”; then, slide the locking lever to the unlock position and lift the motor head.
  2. Remove the accessory:
Press the accessory upward as far as possible, then turn the accessory clockwise and pull it away from the beater shaft.
  3. Remove the ceramic bowl:
Gently turn the ceramic bowl counterclockwise to release it from the bowl clamping plate.
TIPS FOR GREAT RESULTS
  • The Ceramic Bowl is safe for cooking or reheating in the microwave.
  • The Ceramic Bowl is oven safe to 482°F (250°C); however, it is not recommended to place the Ceramic Bowl directly under the broiler.
  • IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the Ceramic Bowl, do not use on stovetop or with any other direct heat, such as broiler, grill, toaster oven, or direct flame.
  • Baking time can vary when using ceramic bakeware. Monitor and adjust the cooking time as needed.
  • Use a hot pad before placing the hot Ceramic Bowl on an unprotected surface.
  • To avoid possible damage, do not set the hot Ceramic Bowl on a cold or wet surface. Do not place a frozen Ceramic Bowl in a hot oven.
  • After removal from the oven, the Ceramic Bowl will retain heat longer than standard bakeware.

  • To remove baked-on food, soak the Ceramic Bowl in hot, soapy water for 15-20 minutes or as needed before placing it in the dishwasher.
