OVERVIEW

Cleaning instructions

Prior to first use and once each week, wash ProChamber and optional mask according to the cleaning instructions.

  1. Remove the MDI adapter. Remove the optional mask.
  2. Soak parts for 15 minutes in warm water with liquid detergent. Agitate gently.
  3. Rinse with clean water and shake out excess moisture. Let all parts air dry thoroughly.
  4. Replace the MDI adapter (and optional mask) when completely dry and ready for use.
  5. Masks Detachable masks are available in the following sizes for patients who are unable to use ProChamber with the mouthpiece alone. Ensure you use the correct mask.

Intended use

ProChamber is intended to be used in combination with Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs) to assist in respiratory drug delivery. ProChamber can be used by all patients using MDIs, i.e. children and adults. Settings for use include the home, clinics, and hospitals.
ProChamber should be replaced after 1 year of use.

INSTALLATION

  • Adult supervision is necessary when a child uses ProChamber. Do not allow children to play with this product.
  • Only disassemble parts according to the cleaning instructions.
  • If parts are damaged or missing, do not use and replace them immediately.
  • Ensure exhaust valves are seated properly as shown in Fig. A.

  • Any serious incident that has occurred in relation to this device should be reported to Philips and the competent authority of the Member State in which the user and/or patient is established.
  1. Read the instructions that came with your medication before using ProChamber (a valved holding chamber).
  2. Pull off the protective caps.
  3. Always check the inside of the chamber for any debris before use.
  4. Insert the MDI actuator into the chamber’s MDI adapter until it is securely inserted.
    1. If a mask is needed, slide the mask onto the chamber mouthpiece until it is completely over the mouthpiece.
  5. Shake the chamber with the MDI actuator in place 4 or 5 times or follow the instructions for use that came with the medication.
  6. Place the chamber in your mouth and form a seal with your lips around the mouthpiece. Exhale. Actuate the MDI, and immediately begin to inhale. Breathe in slowly. Hold breath for 8-10 seconds.
    1. Or if using a mask, press and hold the mask against the face for at least 6 breaths following actuation of the MDI.
  7. Repeat steps 5-6 after 1 minute if additional medication doses have been prescribed. Store ProChamber in a suitable container when not in use.
