BEFORE USE

Installation

After unpacking, check the contents. If a part is missing or damaged, please consult your dealer. There may be moisture inside the main unit (water tank and suction hose).
This is moisture left from the distilled water used for product testing and is hygienically safe.

Cord (Fig.2)
Pass the cord through the cord guides to the right or left as required.

Wall attachment (Fig.3)

  1. Attach the two screws to the wall.
These screws are for insertion in a wood wall only.
  2. Hook the charger onto these screws.
  3. Plug in the power cord.

On the bathroom countertop or a shelf

  1. Place the charger on a secure, level surface.
  2. Plug in the power cord.

CAUTION

  • Do not use the charger in a shower stall or other area with running water that can come in direct contact with the charger.
  • Do not remove the plug from the electrical outlet with wet hands.
  • Be sure to use only a 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz power supply.

CHARGING THE UNIT

Be sure to fully charge the main unit for at least 15 hours:

  1. before using for the first time;
  2. when you have not used the unit for more than three months; or
  3. if the unit runs out of power during use.
    1. Plug the charger into the socket.
    2. Turn off the unit and place it upright in the charger (Fig.4).
The charging indicator will light up.
    3. Be sure to place the unit upright.

If the unit is tilted or not in direct contact with the charger, the unit may not charge properly.

  • The unit charges whenever it is placed in the charger.
  • The indicator light does not go off even after the unit is fully charged.
  • The charging indictor may not light for several minutes when the rechargeable batteries are completely discharged. This is normal.
  • The unit will provide an operation time of approximately 15 minutes of use when the battery is fully charged.
  • The operating duration will become shorter as the batteries get older.

CAUTION:

  • Do not leave metal objects, such as coins or paper clips, on top of the charger. They may become very warm.
  • Always switch off the device before placing it into the charging stand. If not switched off, the device will start operating as soon as it is lifted from the charging stand.
  • Do not recharge with water in the water tank.
  • If the device will not be used for a week or more, disconnect the cord from the wall socket.

NOTE:

  • During charging, the unit will get warm, but this is normal.
  • Use only the exclusive charger provided.
  • If the unit operates only for a short time after being fully charged, this means that the batteries are nearing the end of their life cycle. Take the unit to an authorised service centre to have the batteries replaced.
  • Use the unit within an ambient temperature range of 0°- 40°c.

HOW TO USE

NOTE:

  • Use water that is not warmer than 40°c.
  • Handle the unit gently. Do not drop it or subject it to strong impact.
  • Do not operate the unit when empty other than when pouring out any remaining water after use. Operating the unit without water may result in a malfunction.
  1. Attach the nozzle and the tank firmly onto the unit (Fig.5).
  2. Open the cap of the water tank, hold the unit so it is level, and fill the tank with cold or warm water, not hotter than 40°C (Fig.6).
    • Do not put salt, toothpaste, powder, or other chemicals into the water tank.
    CAUTION:
Never fill the tank with hot water! The gumlines can be very sensitive and can be easily damaged by hot water.
  3. Close the cap, making sure it locks in place (Fig.7).
  4. Press the mode switch and select the desired water jet mode. The mode indicator will display the previously selected mode. If the unit is not used for more than 30 days, or after the unit has been fully charged from its fully discharged state, the mode is initialized to its soft air-in jet water setting.

If you want to use a different mode, press the mode switch until it changes to the desired setting.
Pressing the mode switch will change the mode from soft air-in to normal air-in to jet.

Mode and its indicator (Fig.8)

  1. Mode switch
Pressing the mode switch will change the water jet setting and the respective mode indicator will light up.
  2. “Jet” mode
This mode is for removing food particles trapped between the teeth.
  3. “Normal air in” mode
This mode is for removing food particles and for massaging the gums and rinsing between the teeth and gums .
  4. “Soft air in” mode
This mode is for gently massaging the gums.
    Note:
When you use the unit for the first time, press the operation switch to turn the unit on and test each of the water jet modes with the tank filled with water.
  5. Insert the nozzle into your mouth.
Bend over the sink and hold the unit in an upright position with the nozzle pointing toward your teeth.
  6. Press the operation switch.
Close your mouth slightly to contain the water spray.
    • The unit starts operating in the mode selected in step 4 above.
    • Pressing the mode switch during use will change the mode.
    • A fully filled water tank provides approximately 35 seconds of use.
    • The ventilation hole in the rear of the unit allows for easier water suction of the hose. (If the unit is tilted too much, water may come out from the ventilation hole; this is normal.)
  7. Turn the nozzle wheel with your thumb to reach all areas in your mouth (Fig.9).
    • Keep your mouth slightly opened so that the water can flow out.
    • Systematically rinse all teeth and the spaces between them.
    • Make sure that you always hold the device in an upright position with the nozzle pointing upwards.
If you turn the device upside down, no water from the tank will be taken in.
    • Remember that rinsing the mouth is not a substitute for toothbrushing.
Brush your teeth or dental prosthesis immediately after a meal for at least five minutes and then use the device.
  8. After use, press the operation switch to turn off the unit.
    • Be sure to turn off the unit while the nozzle is still inside your mouth.

AFTER USE (Fig. 10)

  1. With the nozzle still attached, open the cap of the water tank and pour out the water.
  2. Switch on the device for a few seconds to pump out any remaining water.
    • Always pour out the remaining water and empty out the nozzle.
This helps to prevent contamination and bacterial growth in the remaining water.
  3. Turn off the device and return it to the charger.
    • The charging indicator will light up.
  4. While pressing the nozzle release button, remove the nozzle from the unit and place it on the nozzle stand.

MAINTENANCE

CAUTION: Be sure to remove the power plug from the electrical outlet before cleaning the product. Failure to do so may result in electrical shock or other injury.

Cleaning the device (Fig.11)
Switch off the device and remove the water tank and the jet nozzle.

  • Do not wash with hot water exceeding 50°C.
  • Use only water and/or a neutral cleaning agent to clean the main unit. Never use caustic or abrasive agents (e.g., vinegar or lime-scale removers), since they may damage the device.
  • Certain liquid mouthwash may damage the device by causing the housing or tank to crack. When using mouthwash, rinse the tank and main unit with water immediately after use.
Be especially careful when washing the hose connections at the main unit and the tank.

Main unit (Fig.12)
Use a cloth to clean the main unit.
Wash hard-to-remove stains with water.

  • Do not submerge the main unit in water for a long time.
  • After washing with water, wipe dry with a cloth.

Water tank (Fig.13)
Wash the water tank in water.

  • Pour out the water inside the tank after cleaning.
  • If you do not intend to use the device for a week or more, do dry the inside and outside of the tank.

Charger
Use a cloth to wipe the charger.

  • If cleaning requires a detergent, use a mild, neutral cleanser.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals such as thinner, benzene or alcohol as these will discolour the surface.
About once every six months wipe the prongs of the power plug with a dry cloth.

CAUTION:

  • Never remove the power plug from the electrical socket with a wet hand.
  • Clean the power plug periodically.
Dirt and dust buildup may cause electrical shock or reduce the effectiveness of the insulation, thus resulting in overheating and a fire.

Battery
Over a period of time, all rechargeable batteries lose their recharging capacity if they are only partially charged and discharged. To maintain the full capacity of the batteries for as long as possible, the batteries must initially be fully charged (for 15 hours) and then fully discharged through use. Then fully recharge them again.
Repeat this recharging/discharging procedure every two to three months.
