Installation
Note: The DPN-100 is a static-sensitive device. Use an antistatic wrist strap (or equivalent) connected to a grounded surface before opening and while installing the DPN-100.
Connecting the DPN-100
- Remove the DPN-100 from its protective packaging.
- Verify that the target socket is compatible. Note the SFP socket orientation – it may require the DPN-100 to be turned upside-down for the correct insertion.
- Check the following before attempting to insert the DPN-100 into the target SFP socket.
- The DPN-100’s bail is in the closed (locked) position.
- The DPN-100’s dust cover is inserted into the SC/APC fiber opening.
- Insert the DPN-100 into the target SFP socket until you feel (or hear) the latch mechanism “click.”
- Verify that the DPN-100 is seated properly by holding the DPN-100 at the sides and trying to remove it with the SFP bail in the locked position. If the DPN-100 can be removed, reinsert it and press hard on the SFP dust cover to insert the module more securely.
Configuration
Fiber Connection to the DPN-100
