SAFETY

  • WARNING! DO NOT use the digital torque adaptor if damaged or thought to be faulty.
  • Ensure all workshop safety rules, regulations, and conditions are complied with when using this digital torque adaptor.
  • Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
  • Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the working area.
  • After use clean with a soft dry cloth and store in a safe, dry, childproof location.
  • Keep the digital torque adaptor away from magnets.
  • DO NOT subject the digital torque adaptor to excessive force or shocks.
  • DO NOT drop or throw the digital torque adaptor.
  • DO NOT use a digital torque adaptor unless you have been instructed in its use by a qualified person.
  • DO NOT leave the digital torque adaptor in any place exposed to excessive heat, humidity or direct sunlight.
  • DO NOT use organic solvents such as alcohol or thinners to clean the digital torque adaptor.
  • DO NOT submerge the digital torque adapter in water or any other liquid.
  • DO NOT disassemble the digital torque adaptor.
  • DO NOT exceed the permitted torque value for the digital torque adaptor.
  • To ensure accurate measurement periodic re-calibration is necessary.

INTRODUCTION

Designed for use with a standard ratchet or breaker bar. Ideal for work around the engine bay and the tightening of wheel nuts to factory specifications. Large LCD display with LED/audible alarm indicating achieved and target torque levels. Selectable readings in Nm, lb. ft, lb. in, of. cm or kg.m and accurate to ±2% of stated capacity. Memory stores up to 50 readings and features auto shut-off after 80 seconds. Supplied with certificate and storage case.

OPERATION

  • WARNING! DO NOT press Mem and On/off buttons together as this will enter the unit into Calibration Mode.

4.1. POWER ON (fig.1).
4.1.1. Attach the adaptor to a ratchet or breaker bar.
4.1.2. After 2 seconds the LCD panel will show 0.0.
4.1.3. Tighten the nut or bolt.
4.1.4. The LCD displays the torque value measured.
Note: If not used for 80 seconds the Digital Torque Adaptor will automatically shut off.
4.2. HOW TO SELECT UNIT (fig.1).
Press Mem and Peak / Trace buttons together and release to select different torque units.
Note: When you change units the target setting will also be changed to the value of the new unit.
This Digital Torque Adaptor contains 5 unit selections.
(kg-cm, kg-m, in-lb, ft-lb, N-m).
4.3. HOW TO SELECT TARGET TORQUE VALUE (fig.1).
4.3.1. Increase (+): Press and hold the (+) button to increase the current target value.
4.3.2. Decrease (-): Press and hold the (-) button to lower the current target value.
4.3.3. The target will show for 10 seconds.
4.3.4. After 10 seconds the LCD will display 0.0.
Note: When the digital torque adaptor get to 20 units before the target, the red LED will flash and an intermittent buzzer will sound, warning that the target value is close.
When the target value is attained the red LED will be illuminated and the buzzer will sound continuously.
4.4. HOW TO SET PEAK OR TRACE (fig.1).
4.4.1. Peak: Press and release Peak/Trace – button when the digital torque adaptor is on. The LCD panel shows PtoP.
4.4.1.1. The LCD panel shows 0.0 after 2 seconds.
4.4.2. Trace: Press and release Peak/Trace – button when the digital torque adaptor is on.
4.4.3. The LCD panel shows trACE.
4.4.4. The LCD panel shows 0.0 after 2 seconds.
4.5. TURN OFF (fig.1).
4.5.1. If the adaptor is not used for 80 seconds, it will automatically shut down.
4.5.2. To manually turn off the digital torque adaptor press and release the On/Off button.
4.6. MEMORY (fig.1).
4.6.1. To display the stored readings. Turn on the digital torque adaptor.
4.6.2. Press and release the Mem button.
4.6.3. The display shows the memory number is P01 and then the Torque Value.
4.6.4. Press and release the “M” button, again.
4.6.5. The display shows the memory number is P02 and then the Torque Value.
Note: This Digital Torque Adaptor stores the last 50 torque value readings, P01 is the latest reading, P50 is the oldest.

MAINTENANCE

5.1. BATTERY REPLACEMENT (fig.2)
5.1.1. Remove the two screws from the battery cover.
5.1.2. Lift off the battery cover.
5.1.3. Remove the battery from the holder.
5.1.4. Install new batteries observing correct polarity.
5.1.5. Refit the battery cover and the screws.
Note: When the battery is low the will light. Remove thebattery if the torque adaptor is to be stored for a long time.
Battery life is dependant on battery quality and the amount of torque adaptor is used (typical life is up to 55 hours).
5.2. CALIBRATION
5.2.1. Periodic calibration is required for this product contact your Sealey stockist for details.

WEEE REGULATIONS
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories, and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling center, and disposed of in a manner that is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.
