WARNING

  • Never use the appliance if the power cord or power plug is damaged or if the power plug fits loosely in a household outlet.
    • Doing so may cause electric shock, or fire due to a short circuit.
  • Do not connect or disconnect the power plug to a household outlet with wet hands.
    • Doing so may cause electric shock or injury.

  • The appliance is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.

  • Regularly clean the power plug to prevent dust from accumulating.
    • Failure to do so may cause fire due to insulation failure caused by humidity. Disconnect the power plug and wipe with a dry cloth.

      • Immediately request inspection or repair at an authorized service agent.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • Always ensure the appliance is operated on an electric power source matched to the rated voltage indicated on the appliance.

    • Doing so may cause breakage to the wire of the cord, and may cause electric shock or fire due to a short circuit.
  • Do not touch the hot surface (such as soleplate, side of the main body).

    • When using an ironing board through which steam can penetrate, do not place your hand, leg, etc. under the ironing board.
    • Do not place the appliance on your
      hand, knee, or other part of the body.
    • Do not use steam when the appliance is partially
      sticking out from the ironing board.
    • Do not iron clothes while wearing them.
  • Do not touch the steam during use.
    • Do not aim the steam towards your hand, knee, or any other part of the body.
    • Do not iron the clothes that you are wearing.
    • Doing so may cause scalds.
  • Do not insert pins or needles into the appliance or use it on clothes with sewing needles or the like inserted.
    • Doing so may cause fire due to they are in.
  • Do not place the appliance sidelong.
    • Doing so may cause scalds.
  • Do not add perfume, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids or other chemicals in the water tank.
    • It will cause scalds or getting dirty due to the damaged product.
  • Do not use the appliance with the exception of fabric (e.g. leather).
    • Doing so may cause damage it.
  • Do not use the appliance near walls or furniture that cannot withstand high temperature or humidity
    • Doing so may damage the wall or furniture.
  • After using the appliance, while the steam still comes out, do not put it back on the base.
    • Doing so may cause scalds.
  • Do not use steam when using a mitten for iron
    • Doing so may cause scalds.
  • Once the steam button is released, the iron will continue to emit steam for a short time. So keep yourself away from it. Put the appliance back on the base after the steam stops.
    • Otherwise, it may cause scalds.
  • Do not place the base on unstable locations or heat-sensitive rugs.(carpets, resin-made rugs, etc.)

  • The main body must be firmly rested on the base. When placing the main body on its base, the base must be placed on a flat and stable surface. When it is used as a horizontal steam
    iron, it must be used and rested on a flat, stable surface.
    • Failure to do so may cause scalds.
  • Disconnect the power plug by holding the power plug instead of pulling the power cord.
    • Failure to do so may break the power cord, and may cause burns, electric shock, or fire due to a short circuit.
  • When using with following fabric, test on an inconspicuous area, or place a cloth over the fabric to prevent the fabric from marking.
    • Expensive or specially processed fabrics (velvet, acrylic, nylon, cashmere, etc.)
    • Fabrics that are labeled as ” low heat ” or ” medium heat “, or dark colored fabrics.
      • Failure to do so may cause damage fabric.
  • Always unplug the power plug during filling, emptying, cleaning and not in use.
    • Failure to do so may cause electric shock or fire due to electrical leakage resulting from insulation deterioration.
  • When ironing wet clothes, please use the dry-ironing mode.
    • Failure to do so may cause scalds due to hot water splashes from the main body.
  • Make sure to drain the water completely after use.
    • Failure to do so may cause scalds due to hot water leaks if any residual water from last use is still left.
  • Do not add hot water in the water tank.
    • Doing so may cause burns due to hot water splashes.
  • Fully insert the power plug.
    • Failure to do so may cause fire or electric shock.
  • When filling the water tank, please use the cup provided as accessories.
    • Failure to do so may damage the iron due to water overflow.
  • Fill the water tank with distilled water or pure water.
    • Otherwise it will make the product damaged or dirty, which shortens the lifetime of the product.

Usage caution

  • Depending on the direction the main body is held toward, water would not be supplied from the water tank and steam would not come out. Please check the figure as below.
  • Do not touch the hard objects(e.g zipper, button).
    • The soleplate may be scratched.

Deodorizing by steam*1

  • Powerful steam removes the following odors effectively

Perception of odor removal effect varies from person to person.

Other effects

  • The results of above situations may vary depending on the surrounding environment (temperature, humidity), the time of exposure to the steam, the types of fabric.
  • Deodorization effects (according to our own research.) Tested subject: damp odor, pet odor, body odor, sweat smell, smoke smell, food smell (roasted meat and fish) and pesticide smell.
  • Test method: Press the iron on the wool fabric with odors for 10 seconds and spray steam.
  • Use the Six-grade Odor Intensity Evaluation
  • Test result: Confirmed the effects of inhibiting for each odors.

According to the comparison of deodorization effects in the following two conditions.

  • Use powerful steam for 10 seconds.
  • Use 4x powerful steam for one time and powerful steam for
  • 10 seconds in a total of both modes.

Content of the degerming test

  • Test organization: Japan Food Research Laboratories Test certificate issue number:

  • Test certificate issue date: October 17th, 2016
  • Test method: Confirm the degerming results by pressing the high temperature soleplate against the cloth with germs.
  • Test result: 99 % of the germs are removed. Two types of germs are subject to the test.

Contents of test on the inhibition of related allergic substances caused by mites.

  • Test organization: Panasonic (Ltd.) Analytic Center Test report No.: 4AA33-161001-F01
  • Test report issue date: October 14th, 2016
  • Test method: The inactivation test by pressing the high temperature soleplate against the cloth stained with mites (Derf1).
  • Test result: The inactivation rate is over 90 % in 1-second pressing, and over 97 % in 3 seconds pressing.

Contents of test on the inhibition of related allergic substances caused by pollen.

  • Test organization: Panasonic (Ltd.) Analytic Center Test report No.: 4AA33-161003-F01
  • Test report issue date: October 14th, 2016
  • Test method: The inactivation test by pressing the high temperature soleplate against the cloth stained with pollens (Cryj1).
  • Test result: The inactivation rate is over 96 % in 1 second pressing, and over 98 % in 3 seconds pressing.

Filling the water tank

Notes:

  • Do not use tap water or high mineral content of “mineral water”. Otherwise, it will impact the service life of the product.
  • Please fill the water tank with distilled water or pure water.
  1. Fill the cup with distilled water or pure water to the ” MAX ” mark (about 115 mL).
  2. Remove the water fill cover, and add water from the water inlet to the tank “MAX mark. Close the water fill cover, and keep the ventage upward.
    • When used as a dry iron, it can be used without adding water.

Notes:

  • Do not fill over the “MAX mark.
  • Do not slosh water over the main body when adding water into the water tank. Wipe the main body if there is any water drop on it.
  • Check whether the water reaches the “ MAX mark.
  • When setting the main body upright, check the water level with the upper edge line of tank window.

Using

  1. Place the iron on the base securely.
  2. Plug the power plug into the electrical outlet.
  3. Slide the power switch to
    “ I ” position.
    The “HIGH” indicator lights up and starts blinking.
  4. Press the Set button to start setting the temperature.
    • Each time the SET button is pressed, the indicators are switched once in the order of “HIGH” → “MED” →”LOW”
  5. When the product gets ready to work, the set indicator will
    light on in red. (The figure shows the case when “HIGH is set.)
  6. When the powerful steam indicator starts illuminating, press the steam button continuously for using steam functions.
    • It is available for about 10 minutes of steam usage.
      (The time may vary depending on usages.).
    • When used as a horizontal steam iron (refer to page 14), it’s more effective in wrinkle removal after the power indicator light stops flashing around 20 seconds.

Refer to “After each use” in ” Storing ” on P14 Notes:

  • Iron the garment directly by pressing the soleplate against it or with steam by keeping the soleplate slightly away from it, depending on its material.
  • The iron can be used as dry iron without the steam button pressed.
  • When the steam button is pressed, the water pump will pump water into the tank. There will be slight noise and vibration, which are normal.
  • Some noises which can be heard when shaking the iron is the one made when a pipe hits the tank. This is normal.
  • There could be white powder/particles coming out of the steam vents while using the steam function. They are minerals found in hard water which can be brushed off. This is normal.
  • The steam will be invisible occasionally, depending on the ambient temperature and indoor brightness.
  • The water will flow from the ventage when the water inlet is facing down.
  • If the water in tank is used out during ironing, turn off the power, unplug the power plug and add water.

Ironing methods and temperature settings

Types of fiber and corresponding usage method.

  • Set the temperature according to the label on the clothes.
  • When you are ironing delicate fabrics or creating a fluffy effect, keep the soleplate slightly away from the garment.
  • To achieve a good ironing effect, press the soleplate against the garment. Please check the laundry care label on the garment before setting “HIGH” or “MED” .
  • Please iron the garments in the order from those labeled “Iron on low heat” to those labeled “Iron on high heat”. It may take several minutes for the setting to change from HIGH to LOW.
  • Keep the soleplate away from the clothes when ironing clothes labeled “Iron with cover”.
  • You can iron any kind of clothes by keeping the soleplate away from the clothes.
  • The recommended moving speed of the soleplate is about 10 cm every 3 seconds.
  • Do not use the product on leather products.
  • To iron heat-sensitive materials or dark-colored fabrics, test on a small corner of the fabric before ironing the entire garment to avoid damages.
  • Do not iron clothes labeled “No steam”.

Types of fiber and corresponding usage method.

HIGH: Powerful steam is emitted at a speed of about 11 g/min.
MED: Normal steam is emitted at a speed of about 9 g/min.
LOW: No steam is emitted.

Notes:

  1. Ironing a man-made fiber garment for a long time may cause shrinkage of the garment.
  2. It may take several minutes for the setting to change from “HIGH” to “MED” or “LOW” . (The product is ready to work when the red indicator stops blinking.)
  3. When “MED” is set, the temperature regulator in the product will act, and thus the amount of steam will be temporarily reduced.
  4. To deodorize a garment, set the temperature to “HIGH”. While keeping the soleplate slightly away from the garment, use steam to iron the part to be deodorized for 10 seconds.

How to use instant 4x powerful steam

To use 4x powerful steam, just keep using powerful steam for about 10 seconds

  1. Press and hold the steam button until the POWERFUL 4x indicator lights up (for about 10 seconds).
  2. Once the POWERFUL 4x indicator lights up, the product gets ready to work.
  3. Press the steam button twice (and 4x powerful steam will be emitted instantly).
  4. Return to the powerful steam mode. (To use 4x powerful steam next time, repeat the procedure from Step ①.)

Instructions on the indicators

“ Auto Off ” function in operation

When the power switch has been set to “ I ” for 60 minutes without using the steam function, the heater will be off. Turn off the power switch when the product is not to be used. To use the product, press the Set button to disable the “ Auto Off ” function.

Vertical steam ironing

  1. Hang the garment you wish to iron properly on a hanger.
  2. Press the steam button once the indicator stops blinking.
  3. To better remove wrinkles, buckle all the buttons on the garment, and pull the garment tight with one hand while ironing with the other hand. (Please be careful not to scald your hands.)
    • Thick clothes such as a jacket, a suit
      • Button the top button of collar.
      • Gently pull the front and back sides of the garment, and move the soleplate back and forth.
      • Button the cuff button, gently pull the sleeve edge, and move the soleplate back and forth.
    • Thin clothes such as a shirt, a blouse
      When ironing cuffs and collars, use an ironing board.
    • Fluff coat
      To maintain its quality and style, spray with steam from the inner side.
    • 360° all-round ironing
      When the iron is parallel to clothes hanged on the hanger, 360° all-round ironing is available.
    • Generally 360° all-round ironing is not available if the steam button is not pressed or the water inlet is facing down.
      (Please use the product with the water inlet facing up. Otherwise, water may leak from the ventage.)
  4. Wool
    Keep the soleplate about 1 cm away from the clothes for ironing so that the steam is sprayed over the clothes from a distance.
  5. Man-made fiber or clothes labeled “Iron on low heat” When the soleplate is pressed against the clothes, slide the iron lightly with dry ironing (do not press the steam button).
  6. Linen, Cotton
    Slowly move the soleplate so that the steam is in full contact with the clothes for ironing.
    Notes:
    1. When the hanger stand is used, the hanger must be placed on a flat and stable floor.
    2. Please note the distinction of clothing materials.
    3. When the iron is placed on the base, there will be a small amount of steam coming out, which is normal.
      (Because residual water in the iron evaporates.)
    4. When the steam is hard to come out, hold the main body vertically (with the soleplate surface perpendicular to the floor) while pressing the steam button.

Horizontal steam ironing

  1. Put the clothes to be ironed flat on the ironing board.
  2. Press the steam button to start ironing once the indicator stops blinking.
    • Cotton fabric and handkerchief
      Pull the fabric or handkerchief by hand, and start ironing.
    • Folded mark of garment
      Smooth the folded marks by hand, spread a pressing cloth on the garment, and iron the marks slowly.

Notes:

  • Please use a steam ironing board.
  • After the powerful steam indicator lights up in red, wait for about 20 seconds before ironing to achieve better ironing result.
  • When steam ironing is used, water may drip from the soleplate.
    If there is any dripping water, use the iron without pressing the steam button for about 1 minute.

After use

  1. After each use:
    1. Place the iron on the base, and slide the power switch to “ O ” position.
      Be careful not to touch the heated positions such as the soleplate.
    2. Unplug the power plug
  2. Open the water fill cover, and then pour the water out.
  3. Close the water fill cover, and place the iron on the base.
    • There may be some remaining water in the water tank, it is normal.
  4. Place the product on an even and dry place and the surface for placing the product must be stable.
    • Do not store the product in a drawer or wardrobe until it is completely cooled down.
