BOSCH MUZ6MM Universal Mixer Attachment

Intended use

This accessory is designed for the MUM6N.. kitchen machine. Follow the operating instructions for the kitchen machine. Never use the accessory for other appliances. Only use matching parts together.
Depending on assembly, this accessory is suitable for the following purposes:
Universal blade: For mincing, puréeing, blending, kneading, cutting, and making sauces and mixed drinks.
Cutting discs: For shredding, grating, and cutting up food.
Food that is to be processed must not contain any hard components (e.g. bones). The accessory must not be used for processing other objects or substances.

Safety instructions

Risk of injury

  • Never reach into the feed chute. Only use the pusher provided!
  • Do not touch the sharp edges of the universal blade with bare hands. To insert and remove the universal blade, take hold of it by the tapered lug only. Clean with a brush.
  • Never grasp the sharp blades or edges of the cutting discs. Take hold of cutting discs by the edge only.
  • The accessory must be completely assembled before use. Never assemble the accessory on the base unit. The accessory should only be used in the intended operating position. Before attaching or removing the accessory, wait until the drive has come to a standstill and pull out the mains plug.

Caution!

  • Always observe the maximum filling level.
  • Do not insert objects (e.g. knives, spoons) into the feed chute or container.

Important!
It is essential to clean the accessory thoroughly after each use or after it has not been used for an extended period. X “Cleaning and servicing” see page 12

Predetermined breaking point

If an overload occurs, the disc holder on the drive shaft breaks, thereby protecting the drive from damage. Spare parts are available from customer service.

Operating the appliance

Important information:
Only when the multi-blender has been completely assembled and the cover rotated as far as the cover lug, can the multi-blender be attached to the food processor and operated. If required, hold down the cover lug with your thumb. If using the blender drive of the food processor, place the protective cover on the unused drive for the bowl (Fig. B-3).

  • Thoroughly clean accessories before using them for the first time, see “Cleaning and servicing”.

Universal blade

For mincing, puréeing, blending, cutting, and making sauces and mixed drinks.

To insert and remove the universal blade, take hold of it by the tapered lug only.

  • Place the bowl on the base and rotate all the way in an anti-clockwise direction. Lug (1.) must engage in the slot (2.) on the handle (Fig. B-4).
  • Insert the universal blade, taking hold of it by the tapered lug.
  • Add food to be processed.
  • Attach cover (note mark) and rotate in an anti-clockwise direction as far as the cover lug (1.). The cover lug must engage in the slot (2.) on the handle (Fig. B-7).
  • Place multi-blender on the drive, paying attention to the mark. Rotate the bowl as far as possible in an anti-clockwise direction.
  • Set the rotary switch to the desired setting.
  • More food can be added through the filling shaft while the appliance is running.

Note: The cover cannot be removed while the appliance is running and if the multi-blender is attached to the food processor.

After using the appliance

  • Switch off the appliance with the rotary switch.
  • Pull out the mains plug.
  • Rotate the multi-blender in a clockwise direction and remove it from the appliance.
  • Remove the cover by rotating it in a clockwise direction.
  • Empty multi-blender. To do so, hold back the universal blade by the tapered lug in the multi-blender.
  • Remove the universal blade from the tapered lug.
  • Rotate the bowl in a clockwise direction and remove it from the drive base.
  • Clean parts.

Setting 3­4

Mayonnaise

  • 2 eggs
  • 15 g vinegar
  • ½ tsp. mustard
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • 300-400 g (7-9 fl oz) oil All ingredients must be at room temperature.
  • Blend all ingredients (except oil) for several seconds at setting 3.
  • Slowly pour the oil through the funnel and blend until the mayonnaise emulsifies. Processing time: 1½ minutes

Honey-hazelnut spread

  • 50 g hazelnuts
  • 450 g honey (from the refrigerator)
  • Add the hazelnuts to the universal mixer.
  • Add the honey and blend for 10 seconds at setting 4.

Cutting discs

Risk of injury from sharp cutting discs!

  • Keep fingers clear of the filling shaft,
  • add more ingredients with the pusher.
  • Cage tools only when the appliance is at a standstill.
  • Insert and remove cutting discs together with the disc holder only.

Reversible slicing disc – thick/thin

  • For slicing fruit and vegetables.
  • The process at setting 2-3.

Important information:
The reversible slicing disc is not suitable for slicing hard cheese, bread, rolls, or chocolate. Slice boiled, waxy potatoes only when they are cold.

Reversible shredding disc – coarse/fine

For shredding vegetables, fruit cheese, except for hard cheese (e. g. Parmesan). The process at setting 3 or 4.
Important information:
The reversible shredding disc is not suitable for shredding nuts. Shred soft cheese with the coarse side only (at setting 4).
Grating disc – medium-fine
For grating hard cheese (e.g. Parmesan), cooled chocolate, and nuts. The process at setting 4.
Important information:
The grating disc is not suitable for grating soft cheese and cheese slices. Fig. C

  • Place the bowl on the base and rotate all the way in an anti-clockwise direction. Lug (1.) must engage in the slot (2.) on the handle (Fig. C-4).
  • Place slicing or shredding disc with the required side face up on the disc holder. Carefully take hold of discs by the edge!

Note:
Only one side of the grating disc can be used.

  • Insert the disc holder. In doing so, hold the hub (Bild C-6).
  • Attach cover (note mark) and rotate in an anti-clockwise direction as far as the cover lug (1.). The cover lug must engage in the slot (2.) on the handle (Fig. C-7).
  • Place multi-blender on the drive, paying attention to the mark. Rotate the bowl as far as possible in an anti-clockwise direction.
  • Turn the switch to the required setting: Setting 1 or 2 for soft and crumbly foods, otherwise setting 3 or 4.
  • Put the food to be processed in the filling shaft and push down gently with the pusher, observe filling height. The maximum filling height is located on the lower edge of the disc holder hub.

Tip: To ensure evenly cut ingredients, process slender ingredients in bunches.
Note: If ingredients to be processed become jammed in the multi-blender, switch off the food processor and pull out the mains plug. Wait until the drive comes to a standstill. Take the multi-blender off the drive, remove the cover from the multi-blender and empty the filling shaft.

After using the appliance

  • Switch off the appliance with the rotary switch.
  • Pull out the mains plug.
  • Rotate the multi-blender in a clockwise direction and remove it from the appliance.
  • Remove the cover by rotating it in a clockwise direction.
  • Remove the disc holder with an attached cutting disc.
  • Empty multi-blender.
  • Rotate the bowl in a clockwise direction and remove it from the drive base.
  • Clean parts.

Cleaning and servicing

Risk of electric shock!
Before working on the appliance, pull out the mains plug.
Caution!

  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents. Surfaces may be damaged.
  • The drive is not dishwasher-proof.

All parts, except the drive base, are dishwasher-proof. Do not wedge plastic parts in the dishwasher as they could warp. Insert the universal blade with the tapered opening downwards so no damage can be caused to other parts. Wipe the drive base with a damp cloth. If required, use a little washing-up liquid. Then wipe dry.
