ATTENTION!

Before using this product, read the RF Energy Exposure and Product Safety Guide that ships with the radio which contains instructions for safe usage and RF energy awareness and control for compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

ACOUSTIC SAFETY

Exposure to loud noises from any source for extended periods of time may temporarily or permanently affect your hearing. The louder the radio’s volume, the less time is required before your hearing could be affected.
Hearing damage from loud noise is sometimes undetectable at first and can have a cumulative effect.
To protect your hearing:

  • Use the lowest volume necessary to do your job.
  • Turn up the volume only if you are in noisy surroundings.
  • Turn down the volume before connecting the headset or earpiece.
  • Limit the amount of time you use headsets or earpieces at high volume.
  • When using the radio without a headset or earpiece, do not place the radio’s speaker directly against your ear.

DESCRIPTION

The headset with a swivel boom microphone can be used to maintain privacy in two-way radio conversations. This lightweight accessory is useful when high noise levels prevent the operator from hearing sound from the radio speaker.
IMPORTANT: You MUST turn OFF the radio before installing any accessory. Failure to do so may cause the radio to constantly transmit, and it will lock up any radio system you are on. If this happens, simply turn the radio off and on. You may now continue with normal operation.

PUSH-TO-TALK (PTT) OPERATION

  1. Always switch the radio OFF before connecting the headset.
  2. Attach the audio connector to the accessory audio port on the radio.
NOTE: Once the headset has been installed the radio speaker and the radio microphone are both disabled. The user must speak into the headset microphone and use the headset speaker to listen to incoming calls.
  3. Turn the radio on, adjusting the audio volume to the appropriate level.
  4. To transmit, press and hold the Push-To-Talk button on the radio and speak into the headset microphone. Release the Push-To-Talk button on radio to receive transmissions.

  2. Always switch the radio OFF before connecting the headset.
  3. Attach the audio connector to the accessory audio port on the radio.

The transmitter will remain key for a short time after speaking. Stop speaking into the microphone to receive transmissions.

ACCESSORY CLAMP

An accessory clamp (HLN8096) for use with the GP300, P110, and Triton Marine radios is available and can be ordered separately.
