INSTALLATION

When Installing this Product…

  1. Read these instruction carefully. Failure to follow instructions could damage the product or cause a hazardous condition.
  2. Check the ratings given in the instructions and on the product to make sure the product is suitable for your application.
  3. Installer must be a trained experienced service technician.
  4. After installation is complete, check out the product operation as provided in these instructions.

Procedure

IMPORTANT
The Honeywell SuperVent must be installed vertically in horizontal line.

  1. Locate where you would normally locate air control.
  2. Install the SuperVent vertically in horizontal line.
  3. Straight pipe runs up or downstream not required.
  4. Install one SV173 SuperVent on top of sizes 2”, 2½”, 3” and 4” SuperVents. Install two SV173 SuperVents on top of sizes 5” and 6” SuperVents. Install three SV173 SuperVents on top of 8” size SuperVent. SV173 SuperVents are shipped separately.
  5. Be sure to install vent check provided as part of SV173 SuperVent between SuperVent body and SV173 SuperVent.
  6. Install ½” ball valve for fast initial venting on top and a ¾” ball valve for draining at bottom. (Ball valves not included with SuperVent. Purchase separately. Please contact your local Honeywell representative for more information.)
  7. During normal operation, back off vent cap one complete turn.
  8. Tighten vent cap only when air testing system for leaks.

Cleaning

If debris is found in the piping system, then the SuperVent needs to be cleaned. Proceed as follows to clean the Concentrator:

  1. For Blow Down Version (Model T or F), open ¾” (19mm) ball valve at bottom of SuperVent.

NOTE: Concentrator may drop out under its own weight when removing blind flange. Replace on concentrator and blind flange using a new gasket where necessary.

Service

For SV173 SuperVent replacement, do the following:

  1. Reduce system pressure.
  2. Remove SV173 SuperVents by unscrewing threaded connection on top of vent check. With vent check installed, pressure relieving or draining is not necessary.
  3. Replace with a new SV173 SuperVent.
NOTE: Disassembly and cleaning of SV173 SuperVent is possible. Carefully unscrew vent top and clean float. Flush inside of vent. Reassemble.
