Safety

Observe the following safety instructions.

General information

  • Read this instruction manual carefully.
  • Observe the instructions for the base unit.

Intended use

Only use the accessories:

  • with a kitchen machine from the same series MUMS2, MUMS4, MUM5.
  • With genuine parts and accessories.
  • For cutting up, chopping, mixing, puréeing and emulsifying liquid or semi-solid food.
  • For crushing ice cubes.

Safety instructions

 WARNING ‒ Risk of cutting!
The blender knife has sharp blades.

  • When cleaning and emptying the blender jug, watch out for the sharp blades.
  • Never touch the edges of the blades with bare hands.

WARNING ‒ Risk of injury!
Improper use may cause injuries.

  • Never assemble the accessories on the base unit.
  • Only attach and remove accessories once the drive has stopped and the appliance has been unplugged.
  • The accessories should only be used in the intended operating position.
  • Never reach into the fitted accessory.
  • Never operate the accessory without fitting the lid.

WARNING ‒ Risk of scalding!
Hot food may splash out during processing and steam can escape from the lid.

  • Add a maximum of 500 ml of hot or frothing food.
  • Process hot food carefully.
  • Do not lean over the appliance.

Avoiding material damage

ATTENTION!
Improper use may cause material damage

  • Do not process food that contains hard components, e.g. bones, gristle or stones.
  • Do not process frozen ingredients, apart from ice cubes.
  • Do not insert any objects into the blender jug, e.g. wooden spoons.
  • Before use, check the blender jug for foreign objects.

Unpacking and checking

Unpacking the accessories and parts

  1. Take the accessories out of the packaging.
  2. Take all other parts and the accompanying documents out of the packaging and place them to hand.
  3. Remove any packaging material.
  4. Remove any stickers or film.

Cleaning the accessories before using for the first time

  1. Clean all parts that come into contact with food before using for the first time. → “Cleaning and servicing”,
  2. Put the cleaned and dried parts out ready for use.

Prepare the base unit and the accessories for use.

Fitting blender attachment to the base unit

WARNING
Risk of injury!
Improper use may cause injuries

Only attach and remove accessories once the drive has stopped and the appliance has been unplugged.

  1. Place the blender attachment on drive 3 as shown. → Fig. 4 Markings and must match up.
  2. Push the blender attachment and turn down anticlockwise until it engages. → Fig. 5 Markings and must match up.

Basic operation

Processing food using the blender attachment

Note: Take note of the recommended speeds.
→ “Application examples”.

  1. Prepare your food. Cut up large items of food.
  2.  Add the food to the blender jug. → Fig. 6
  3. Insert the funnel in the lid and place the lid on the blender jug. → Fig. 7
  4. Rotate the lid anticlockwise until it engages. → Fig. 8 The lid must be completely closed.
  5. Insert mains plug.
  6. Set the rotary switch to the recommended speed. → Fig. 9
  7. Process the ingredients until you achieve the required result.
  8. Set the rotary switch to . → Fig. 10

 Adding more ingredients

  1. To add more ingredients during processing, select one of the following options:
    ‒ Add liquids through the funnel in the lid.
    ‒ Take out the funnel and add solid ingredients through the opening. → Fig. 11
  2. To add large quantities, set the rotary switch to O off .
    Wait until the appliance stops.
  3. Rotate the lid clockwise and remove.
  4. Add the ingredients as described and continue processing. → “Processing food using the blender attachment”.

Emptying the blender attachment

  1. Unplug the mains plug.
  2. Rotate the blender attachment clockwise until it disengages. → Fig. 12
  3. Remove the blender attachment from the base unit. → Fig. 13
  4. Rotate the lid clockwise and remove. → Fig. 14
  5. Place the processed food in a suitable container or serve immediately. → Fig. 15

Tips

  • Clean all parts immediately after use so that residues do not dry on.
  • To preclean, pour a little detergent solution into the blender jug and switch the appliance on for a few seconds.

ATTENTION!
Using unsuitable cleaning agents or incorrect cleaning may damage the accessories.

  • Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol or spirits.
  • Do not use sharp, pointed or metal objects.
  • Do not use abrasive cloths or cleaning agents.

ATTENTION!
Using unsuitable food may damage the appliance.

Do not process food that is hotter than 70 °C in the blender jug.

Note
Restrictions on processing:

  • Do not use it to chop ingredients like almonds, onions, parsley and meat.
  • The blender cannot produce spreads, such as peanut butter, coconut butter or nut spreads.
  • Use enough liquid when mixing solid food.
  • Mix powdered food with sufficient liquid before blending, or dissolve it entirely in liquid. Examples of powdered food include icing sugar, cocoa powder, roasted soybeans, flour, protein powder.
