SAFETY ADVICE

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  •  Keep the appliance and its power cord out of reach of children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  •  Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children without supervision.
  • The appliance can only be connected to a power supply which voltage and frequency comply with the specifications on the rating plate.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or rice cooker in water or any other liquid.
  •  Unplug rice cooker from electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool before adding or taking parts off.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug it in if the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the manufacturer or appointed service agent for examination, repair, or adjustment
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let the electrical cord hang over the edge of a table or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on, or near, hot gas or electrical burner, or in a heated oven.
  •  Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • As a safety feature, this product is equipped with a grounded plug. Improper connection of the grounding conductor may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.
  • A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in, or tripping, over a longer cord.
  • If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and the cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized Electrolux technicians.
  •  If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by a qualified technician from Electrolux.
  •  Warning! There may be residual heat after use on the heater plate. Do not touch the heater plate immediately after use.
  • Warning! Do not use the appliance other than the intended use, which may cause potential injury. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: – staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments; – farm houses; – clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments; – bed and breakfast type environments.

WARNING! DO NOT IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE AND AVOID SPILLAGE ON THE CONNECTOR.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the parts of the rice cooker thoroughly. Make sure all the parts are completely dry before you start using the appliance.
  2.  To prevent the damage of the non-stick coating in the inner pot, use a separate container to wash the rice.
  3.  Measure the rice using the measuring cup provided. Do not exceed the quantities indicated on the inside of the inner pot
  4.  Place the washed rice into the inner pot
  5.  Add water to the level indicated on the scale inside the inner pot that corresponds to the number of cups of rice used.
    NOTE: Do not exceed the highest water level indication mark.
  6. Dry the outside of the inner pot
  7.  Place the inner pot in the rice cooker. To ensure that the inner pot is correctly positioned on top of the heater plate, adjust the inner pot by slightly turning left and right Tilting of the inner pot may cause uneven cooking.
  8.  Place the glass lid on top of the inner pot
  9.  Plug into the wall socket and switch on the mains.
  10. Press the control lever down to start the cooking. The light indicator will switch to “COOK”. NOTE: Bubbles might occur during the cooking process (please refer to the “Troubleshooting” section).
  11. The light indicator will switch to “KEEP WARM” automatically when the rice is cooked.
  12. Open the lid and stir the rice to loosen it, then close the lid firmly. (For the best result, stir the rice after the rice cooker has switched to keep warm mode for 10 to 15 minutes. Stirring the rice allows the excess steam to escape for fluffier rice.]

  13. Add the appropriate amount of water into the inner pot The amount of water varies according to the quantity of food to be steamed. Ensure that the water level does not exceed the height of the steam tray. Insert the steam tray into the inner pot You may place the food directly on the steam tray or on a plate before placing the plate on the steam tray.
  14.  Press the control lever down to start the cooking. The light indicator will switch to “COOK” NOTE: To ensure even steaming, the food should be spread out evenly and should not be piled up.
  15. To end the steaming process, pull up the control lever, switch off the mains and remove the plug from the wall socket Open the lid and carefully remove the steamed food from the plate or the stream tray. Use a kitchen glove or a cloth as the plate and stream tray are very hot
    CLEANING AND CARE
  16. Unplug the rice cooker before you start cleaning it Wait until the rice cooker has cooled down sufficiently before cleaning.
  17. Remove the steam tray and the inner pot from the body of the appliance.
  18. Clean the inner pot, steam tray, rice paddle with a sponge or a cloth in warm water with some washing liquid. Use a damp cloth to wipe the outside of the body of the rice cooker. Do not soak the body of the rice cooker in water
  19.  To protect the non-stick coating of the inner pot, do not use the inner pot for washing dishes or put vinegar in the pot
    NOTE: Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, scouring pads or metal utensils to clean the inner pot as these will damage the non-stick coating.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptoms Possible Causes Solutions
The indicator light does not light up.
The heater plate is not warm.
The KEEP WARM tight does not light up when the cooking process is completed.

The light is defective.
The rice is not cooked or the cooking time is taking too long. Not enough water is added. Add water to the level indicated on the scale inside the inner pot that corresponds to the number of cups of rice used.
Cooking time is insufficient Press down the control lever to start the cooking process.
The inner pot is not properly in contact with the heater plate. Make sure there is no foreign particle on the heater plate.
Possible foreign particle be- tween the Inner pot and heater plate.
The heater plate Is damaged. Contact authorized service center.
The rice is too hard or too soft Not enough or too much water has been added. Add water to the level indicated on the scale Inside the inner pot that corresponds to the number of cups of rice used.
The rice is scorched. The rice has not been rinsed well. Rinse the rice until water runs clear.
The master temperature controller is defective. Contact authorized service center.
The rice cooker does not automatically switch to keep warm mode. The master temperature controller is defective. Contact authorized service center.
Water escape from the lid or too many bubbles occurred during cooking. Too much water in proportion to the quantity of rice used. Use less water or increase the quantity of rice.

Recycle the materials with the symbol O. Put the packaging in applicable containers to recycle it Help protect the environment and human health and to recycle waste of electrical and electronic appliances.
Do not dispose of appliances marked with the symbol with the household waste. Return the product to your local recycling facility or contact your municipal office.
