ELECTRICAL SAFETY

WARNING! It is the user’s responsibility to check the following:
Check all electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe before using. Inspect power supply leads, plugs and all electrical connections for wear and damage. Sealey recommend that an RCD (Residual Current Device) is used with all electrical products. You may obtain an RCD by contacting your local Sealey dealer. if the product is used in the course of business duties, it must be maintained in a safe condition and routinely PAT (Portable Appliance Test) tested.
Electrical safety information, it is important that the following information is read and understood.
1.1.1. Ensure that the insulation on all cables and on the appliance is safe before connecting it to the power supply.
1.1.2. Regularly inspect power supply cables and plugs for wear or damage and check all connections to ensure that they are secure.
1.1.3.Important: Ensure that the voltage rating on the appliance suits the power supply to be used and that the plug is fi tted with the correct fuse – see fuse rating in these instructions.
✖ DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable.
✖ DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable. Remove the plug from the socket by maintaining a fi rm grip on the plug.
✖ DO NOT use worn or damaged cables, plugs or connectors. Ensure that any faulty item is repaired or replaced immediately by a
1.1.4. This product is fi tted with a BS1363/A 13 Amp 3 pin plug.
If the cable or plug is damaged during use, switch the electricity supply and remove from use. Replace a damaged plug with a BS1363/A 13 Amp 3 pin plug. If in doubt contact a qualifi ed electrician. Class II products are wired with live (brown) and neutral (blue) only are marked with the Class II symbol;
A) Connect the BROWN live wire to the live terminal ‘L’.
B) Connect the BLUE neutral wire to the neutral terminal ‘N’.
C) After wiring, check that there are no bare wires and ensure that all wires have been correctly connected Ensure that the cable outer sheath extends inside the cable restraint and that the restraint is tight.
✖ DO NOT connect either wire to the earth terminal.
Sealey recommend that repairs are carried out by a qualifi ed electrician.

GENERAL SAFETY

WARNING! Ensure Health & Safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using this equipment
Familiarise yourself with product application and limitations, as well as the specific potential hazards peculiar to the cleaning tank.
WARNING! Disconnect the cleaning tank from the mains power before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance.
✖ DO NOT unplug machine with wet hands.
Maintain the cleaning tank in good condition (use an authorised service agent).
Replace or repair damaged parts. Use genuine parts only. Non-authorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
Locate the cleaning tank in an adequate working area for its function. Ensure the cleaning tank stands on a firm level surface. Keep area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials. Ensure the area is well ventilated and has adequate lighting.
Keep the cleaning tank away from heat sources such as heater, sparks, open flames etc.
Keep the tank clean. Remove and clean the filter regularly for best and safest performance.
Ensure there are no flammable or combustible materials near the work area.
 WARNING! Always wear approved eye or face protection when operating the cleaning tank along with protective gloves (see Sealey Catalogue for suitable gloves, we recommend part no. SSP32)
Remove ill fitting clothing. Remove ties, watches, rings and other loose jewellery, and contain long hair.
Wear appropriate protective clothing.
Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.
Avoid accidental starting of the cleaning tank. Ensure that it is unplugged from the mains supply when not in use.
In case of fire in the cleaning tank, close the lid. DO NOT attempt to remove parts, or the cleaning tank.
✓ DO NOT use the cleaning tank for any purpose other than for which it is designed.
✓ DO NOT use the cleaning tank where there are flammable liquids, solids or gases.
✓ DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the cleaning tank.
✓ DO NOT operate the cleaning tank if any parts are missing or damaged as this may cause failure or possible personal injury.
✖ DO NOT leave the cleaning tank operating unattended.
✖ DO NOT operate the cleaning tank when you are tired, under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
The tank is not suitable for paint thinners, gun wash or air drying.
✓  When not in use switch the cleaning tank off, remove plug from the power supply.
Dispose of waste liquids in accordance with local authority regulations.

Blow-moulded parts cleaning tank with brush. Lightweight and mobile unit suitable for bench-top mounting. Fluid recirculated through fi lter and directed onto work-piece through long reach hose and brush. For use with soluble cleaning agents only

OPERATION

 WARNING! Ensure that you have read, understood and apply the section 1 safety instructions before using the cleaner.

  1. Check that the cleaning tank power switch is in the off position, and that the unit is unplugged from the mains power supply.
  2. Fill the tank to appropriate capacity (between a minimum of 7.5l and a maximum of 16l) with Sealey soluble solvent (Part nos: AK20,AK2001,AK25 and AK2501) or a general purpose water-soluble degreaser (contact your local Sealey Stockist for supply).
    DO NOT use any other type of aggressive solvent (petroleum, toluene or thinners etc.) CAUTION! Ensure that you follow any instructions provided with the product.
  3. Remove plug from bottom of the cleaning tray to uncover mesh filter. DO NOT operate without mesh filter in place.
  4. Plug the unit into the mains power supply and switch the unit on. Check that the solvent flows freely through the outlet hose.
  5. Place parts to be cleaned onto the cleaning tray. Use brush to remove dirt gently from parts to be cleaned. Ensure any splash back stays inside the tank.
  6. The brush can be placed temporarily in the pocket moulded into the lid. Ensure that the pump is switched off beforehand.
  7. Should any component require to be soaked, the drain plug can be inserted to allow a quantity of fluid to remain in the tray. Ensure that the fluid drains back into lower tank afterwards.
  8. Turn off the pump and leave the parts to drain on the shelf.
  9. When complete, turn the cleaning tank off and unplug from the mains power supply.
  10. Keep the cleaning tank clean. Remove and clean the mesh filter regularlyfor the best and safest performance.
  11. The cleaning fluid can be re-used until it gets too dirty to be effective, at which point it needs changing.
  12. To drain spent fluid, remove drain cap on the left hand side of the unit and drain into a suitable container.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.
WEEE REGULATIONS
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
